The phone app often does not have a lot of attention with iOS updates, but it is changing to IOS 26. There are many new features to avoid unwanted calls and save your time.
Unified design
The phone app has a new unified design, but also an option to use the original iOS 18 layout. Unified designs hold recent calls, lost calls and voicemail on one screen.
Favorite contact stays at the top of the interface and there is still a tab to exchange contacts or keypads. You can turn on or off the unified view by taping on the icon with three lines in the upper right corner of the display.
Call screening
Apple Pal has expanded the call screening functionality in Ais 26. An unknown collar (aka people who have not saved in the list of contacts) are an option to ask for their name and call for reasons. When enabled, this is an automatic process.
The iPhone hinders the incoming call and requests a small reason for the person’s name and call. The information has been released on the text and you can decide whether you have been relayed and ask for more information, accept calls or refuse calls.
The person at the other end of the call receives an automatic response just like a voicemail asking for more information, and they are prevented when deciding to accept or reject the call.
To use this feature, toggle to “Ask for Calling” in the phone section of the Settings app.
Silence unknown collar
Instead of asking more information from an unknown collar, there is still a silence with a caller option that can be turned on instead. Like the AOIS 18, calling the silence of non -saved numbers, sending them to the voicemail automatically. Called calls will be shown in the list of rents and you will also see voicemail for information about why someone is calling.
If you do not want to use the reason for asking for an unknown collar or calling feature of peace, you can set the screen on the unknown collar option “Never”. With this setting, calls on non -saved numbers ring normal and the recycles are shown on the mixed calls.
Call filtering
In addition to improved call screening, AOIS 26 has new call filtering features. Lost calls and voicemail have an option to move to the list of a dedicated unknown collar from the numbers that are not saved, they are hidden from the main view.
There is also a toggle to calm automatically marked as a spam by carrier. If you have a varnish, for example, the variations automatically mark some numbers as a spam, and the iphone can automatically send it to the voicemail and move the call to the spam list. This setting can change by carrier.
As this option is turned on, you can tap on the top right of the phone app to see a call moved or spam in an unknown collar section.
Spam voicemail
When you tap the voicemail from an unknown number, there is now a “report spam” button. Taping on it appple to send voicemail and you can either report the message report as a spam and keep it or report it and delete it. Deleting a voicemail from an unknown number also brings the option of reporting as a spam, and is an option to report spam while listening to the incoming voicemail.
Reporting a voicemail as a spam does not block the collar and needs to be done in a different step. Tap the “I” button, scroll down the contact card, and tap the block contact to block spammer.
Hold the assistance
If you call and put it on hold, Oois 26 has a feature that will wait for you so you can do other things. This listens to a hold music playing and then alert you when someone comes to the line so you can pick up the call.
You can turn on a hold support to any call by calling, then tap the “…” button when the call is connected. Your phone will play and when a person is on the line, you will be tuneed to pick up. If AIPHONE १ Finds hold music, it can automatically motivate you to turn on a hold assistance.
Since this feature is searching for hold music, it can be incomplete when there is a voice-based automation, or if you have music with different songs. You will see excerpts from any spoken words, so that you can determine when a person is actually on the line.
Direct translation
Live translation is a feature that can translate the phone call from one language to another. When the call is in progress, tap the “…” button and then tap directly to the translation to use the feature.
You can then select the language you want to translate (the language you speak in the language you are talking) and you can choose the language you want to translate (in your language). So far, direct translation for the phone app supports English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
When the translation is in progress, you will see a small suggestion at the bottom of the phone app that says “translation (language)” and there will be direct excerpts from the call. The AI voiceover will comment on what he has said in one language from another, it was a little late while it was happening.
Live translation works on iphone to translate what you are listening to and what you are saying, so the other end does not have to have an iphone or a smartphone.
Call history
Extended call history is available for each of your contacts in AOIS 26. In the phone app, tap on “I” next to any name or number, and then tap on the “Call History” option. From there, you can see the person every time, years ago.
Type Siri
While on the phone call, you can now use the type of Syry feature to ask SIRI questions or to complete a task.
Screen sharing and shared
Apple Pal added shared and screen sharing support to the phone app in Ais 26. While calling with a person with a consistent device, “” … tap the button and then choose either shared or screen sharing to access the features.
When using shares, you are able to choose an app for use with a feature like Apple Pal TV or Apple Pal Music.
With screen sharing, you can ask for remote access to the device, which is useful for helping to solve the technology problem.
Both participants must use the device with the phone app with the screen sharing and using the device with AOIS 26, iPados 26 or MacOS Taho.
ESIM improvement
If you need to transfer ASIM to Android or Android ESIM, the process has been organized in the process of AOIS 26. In the cellular settings of Ifone, there is an “transfer to Android” option for existing SIMs, as well as “transfer from Android” when adding new SIM to iphone.
Phone app for iPad and Mac
The phone app has expanded on iPad in iPados 26 and Mac in Macos Taho. All features such as call screening, hold assistance and live translation also work on ipad and Mac.
To use a phone app on iPad or MAC, you need an APPLOOP AFTER APPLE PULT ACCOUNT and you need to activate Wi-Fi calling so that calls can be accepted on other devices.
